CHAPTER 2
NOV 12TH | 40℉☁

▸ ...day's weather news, looks like *CHSKSSS--* back to cold and rainy, sorry folks...

▸ tensions have definitely been rising, Robin. Now, I don't know about you, but when I hear about all of the missing folks lately, that poor Gage girl, and now that the Sheriff's department may have already lost two bodies from the morgue-- [the speaker, local radio personality Brad Brooks, is cut off here by a woman. presumably by his co-host, Robin] --Look, no, I'm not trying to play devil's advocate, but you can't *CHSKSSS--*st throw that out there like that. Listeners, do us a favor and fact check for yourself. Because all of this talk about bodies going missing just sounds like a lot of sensationalized hype and rumor, and the good boys of the Randolph County Sheriff's Department are working hard to keep you safe, so before you start to- [it's her turn to be cut off here, and she and Brad devolve into a civil and entertaining bickering match that ends amiably before proceeding to the next topic, never resolving the matter of the missing bodies]

[spooky music before an announcer voice comes on] He was just the boy next door.... [a sweet elderly man's voice] "Hi, well hello there, Danny! I didn't know it was hockey season." [a small boy's voice while spooky music continues.] "Hey can I borrow a knife." [the announcer voice returns] A deadly curse, a deranged killer...a small town, in tears. Knife. After. Dark. [a swelling of music before screeching jump scare noise. rated r. it cuts out with a loud *CHSKSSS--*]

[back to Brad and Robin, who have circled back to the gruesome topic of Blackwell's upswell in crime and the RCSD's incompetence and seem to be mid-passionate argument] ---just want to know, what are they doing about all this crime? You've got missing people, murder, missing bodies and all in a matter of weeks in a town that's crime rate is usually just under "nada". Is this a matter for the FBI? Why hasn't anyone announced a suspect? Are they all connected? These are the questions we deserve to have answered, and no one is doing that. No one. [Robin interrupts him again with a disagreeing noise, and they continue to bicker for another half hour, taking calls with opinions throughout, and interspersed infrequently with static interruption.]

[somehow you ended up on an industrial station. that's cheery. the reception seems really bad, though.]

IT'S WINDY AF

▸ No headway on the Fairweather/Winters search. As hopes dwindle, the search party soldiers on. This weekend, divers and boats will begin searching the lake.

▸ Just a reminder with all the parents out there, be mindful of your child's safety when sending them out to play. Make sure your kids are actually going to school and attending class. If your child has been bothered by the recent events, you may want to keep them home. Blackwell High offers free therapy sessions to those children who have been affected by the recent tragedies brought to you by Dr Abernathy's local practice.

▸ Old lady Petunia claims to have seen angels in Blackwell. She describes them as being tall, bright creatures come to take Blackwells lost and tormented souls into the afterlife. Old lady Petunia says to not panic when seeing these creatures, as they are most holy. She also suggests that no one try to photograph the angels, as the flashes may anger them. Old lady Petunia has paid me 70 dollars to say this.

▸ Sunny weather today, but that does not mean it's warm. Expect a couple more sunny days before the next storm.
