CHAPTER 2
Nov 3rd | 63℉☁
▸ Due to last night's storms, a quarter of Blackwell is still without power. It seems a tree has fallen on a power line, which will be promptly inspected by BWI and fixed ASAP.
▸ The worst of that storm is now over, thank god. Weather reports cloudy days from here on out.
▸ Fairweather and Winters kids are still missing. Local authorities and volunteers are resuming their search in the immediate area. Please, if you have the time, go join the cause.
▸ In a sad turn of events, the remains of Kara Samson have been returned to the family not a week ago. Details surrounding her disappearance and cause of death have not yet been released.
▸ Rumors say that the county morgue outside of Elkins was broken into early this morning, but officials decline to comment on the matter.
▸ Today's news radio is brought to you by Black Lodge Bar! Head on down to Black Lodge for their all day Monday happy hour!
▸ And now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
THE RISING IS NOT IN EFFECT

[ he sips his drink before actually looking around. wow it's dead. ]
Maybe you should look into some advertising firms, Harriet. Can you afford internet or should I do that for you?
no subject
Nah, wouldn't want to take attention away from the missing kids. But thanks.
no subject
No problem.
[ he checks his watch as if to avoid facing her. it's not like he has any other reason to check it. ]
You're not going there?
no subject
[ that's all the answer you'll get out of her on the matter, she's going to go clean some glasses ]
no subject
If you ask me they're wasting their time. They'll turn up dead sooner or later. It's how it's been until now, I can't see why it wouldn't be any different. The Alekseev girl was an exception and there's not going to be another one like that.
[ can he smoke inside. how fancy are we. ]
no subject
[ she was cleaning but turns as he keeps talking. you done it now ]
You gonna say shit like that, you can walk your little fuckface out. I don't care how much money you spend here.
no subject
It's only the truth.
[ lights a cigarette. ]

[ spreads his hands a little like noooo. my drink. there it goes. ]
It's been 24 hours. The crucial hours have passed and we all know what that means. Not to mention the storm. I'm sorry if you don't agree but that's just how it is.
no subject
My house, my rules. You agree to that when you step in here, when I tell you to shut up and leave you shut up and you leave.
no subject
[ lets out a defeated sigh and slides off his stool. ]
[ drops some ash off his cigarette as he wanders to the door. ]

[ he's going there. ]

[watches him stumble out of the bar looking unruly, one hand on his backpack strap. he's not actually going to school so it's a wonder why he wears it. doesn't move to help his drunk ass though. if you want to pub crawl instead of be a parent you can do it from the floor where u belong]
no subject
[ mutters to himself as he crushes his cigarette under his shoe. looks up when he sees the boy approaching. faintly recognizes him as one of Petre's few friends. it's hard to keep track of new faces when the world has been one big blur to him ever since his wife died. ]
I got kicked out of a bar and it's not even 6pm.
[ can you believe that. ]
no subject
[shifts feet and tilts head to look at him judgily. maybe because he's always had awesome parents he has no tolerance for people who act like he does. get your shit together mr fredrickson.]
no subject
I suppose if speaking the truth is considered being an asshole.
[ seems to realize who he's talking to in the middle of the sentence and points at him. ]
And clean your mouth.
no subject
[respectful what. who. raises eyebrows at him. what are you gonna do about it. nothing because you're too drunk to catch him]
no subject
Is calling me names part of your checking up on me repertoire now? To think that this chat started out so nicely.
[ kids these days. at least Petre knows how to act. ]
no subject
[i mean he wouldn't because cops suck but he can still harass him for it]
no subject
[ he still has no idea what is the name of this annoying child. still, doesn't take his threat seriously. he hears a lot of shit at work when he's treating mental cases and other interesting people. ]
The amount of alcohol I've had today is not nearly enough to cause alcohol poisoning. It's not even enough for a hangover.
[ and we all know who to blame for that. ]
no subject
[onto the next topic of judgment then]
Half the town is looking. You're just gonna keep drinking?
no subject
Sorry, were they your friends?
[ leans against the car that is closest to him which also happens to be his own car. convenient. suddenly looks at him like he realized something. ]
No, wait, I remember. You're that kid whose girlfriend went missing.
no subject
[you know he might be kicking his shit but blathering about how the missing kids are probably dead to the kid whose missing girlfriend turned up dead is pretty fucked up.]
no subject
[ sorry not sorry. people die all the time. ]
Did you know my wife died?
[ this is the worst conversation. ]
