▸ Now for the weather, expect light showers from late morning to mid afternoon. Blackwell is expecting the storm to keep rolling through overnight, so drive safe!

[about to try to mouth something unintelligably again when one of the deputies turns around in that ambling way they do while talking and he ducks behind the corner again. stares at himself in the reflection before ducking down below the window. oh my god.]
[slowly leans around corner again. points to keys again. don't let me die here]

[ she is basically just talking to them right now and writing stuff in her little notebook. she sets it on top of the table so that her elbow covers the hook. she nudges it as scooby subtly as possible until she manages to drop it and coughs to cover the sound
then she kicks it like a horse towards him ]

[claps hand over them before they hit the wall and cause a ruckus, freezing to look up and make sure they didn't catch on before holding a thumbs up around the corner for her as he slides back to the door. much good job.]
[NOW TO INFILTRATE THE MORGUE]
[he wiggles the key in the lock with a hand over it to be as quiet as he can and mission impossible slides into the room, closing it behind him and fighting the urge to flip a light switch. ok, now he's alone in a room full of refrigerated bodies and he's beginning to forget why he wanted to do this in the first place. rolls up his sleeves and takes his little hat off to set on a metal slab as he makes his way around, leaning over to squint at the nameplates on each compartment until he gets to kara's. he stops there though, unsure that he even wants to see it now. is this really the kind of thing you want to see.]

no it isn't. ]

[glances back to the hallway, wondering if he shouldn't just not do it and say he did. but he came this far and he does really want to know. it's been months and maybe this will make it end. so he reaches for the freezer handle and tugs the gurney free from the wall, rolling it out until it locks into place open]
[he makes the mistake of looking to her face first, or where it should have been, and immediately feels the bile come up in his throat- they weren't lying about her being a mangled mess and his first thought is a weirdly clinical one about how her parents were even able to identify her]
[he uses the wall of locked freezers behind him to steady himself backing up]

[ definitely certain she locked it (and seeing sophie doing a hilarious job at being a distraction), she gives the morgue a quick lookover before waving her arms, going to shut kara's little fridge door. chloe spins around to stare at colby who looks like he is about to throw up all over her clean floor.
please, colby. please don't do that. ]
What the hell are you doing here?
[ in a morgue. alone. full of dead bodies. at least his vomity face throws out her theory of him being a necrophiliac. ]

Wow thanks. [you're the best sophie. really. looks up with wide eyes and just kind of shrugs to explain himself. makes that idk noise. that works right. the idk defense?]
I was. Got lost.

Maaaaaybe if you gave me a better reason than I got lost I'd cut you some slack and not get you arrested for breaking and entering and whatever you were planning to do with Ms. Samson here.
