▸ Several houses were egged in height of last night's events. Locals are offering a small reward to anyone with information that may lead to identification of the culprits.
▸ Now for the weather, expect light showers from late morning to mid afternoon. Blackwell is expecting the storm to keep rolling through overnight, so drive safe!
▸ That's the News In today. Now back to your regularly scheduled tunes. This one goes out to the Gages, may you find peace in these difficult times.
THE RISING IS NOT IN EFFECT

I'm at the hotel in Blackwater, the Gainsbourg. [ she responds curtly before holding it back out to her. ]
no subject
I see.
[ leaves her hanging and continues her walk wherever she was headed in the first place. ]

Don't worry about it, she's a jerk.
[ he shrugs off his coat, sets his helmet on the table, takes a seat and starts drying it with the toilet paper he gathered from the bathroom. the rain was only LIGHT but it did a good job getting him wet on his way here. ]
no subject
Usually it's the cops who get stuffy about FBI pissing on their territory.

... How long has this been going on?
[ nods to the direction of the office and wipes the table with the rest of the toilet paper. ]
no subject
Oh about...two cups of coffee ago. [ who knows how long that is, but it's about as long as she's been there. ]
no subject
[ yeah he doesn't want to get involved. dealing with sad people is one thing but dealing with sad angry people is something he doesn't want to do. ]
You've been in contact with the Samsons yet?
no subject
[he catches sight of them from across the room and, only knowing adrian by the fact that she smokes, pantomimes a cigarette to his mouth before heading outside because half of the station is watching him after the spectacle and he'd rather not. just not]
no subject
but is thankfully saved, if one could call it that by the commotion across the office. to which she swings her chair to glance in Adam's direction as he's bounced out of the office. she's going through the stages of grief in her head, but he seems to be running a roulette with them the more she's seen him. not surprising, not in the least, but she wished someone would have kept him home ]
I've barely even had the chance to settle in. [ the mutters offhandedly before pulling herself up, cup down on the counter without a coaster as she picks up on the invitation to follow the little bitchfit outside ]
no subject
[ looks after them, debating if he should follow or not. guys? ]
[ he doesn't want to deal with the angry sheriff either so he chooses to go after them. ]
no subject
[he's actually relatively calm when they drag their asses outside, so not angry just for the sake of being a disruptive piece of shit. he looks between them not expecting a party but doesn't begrudge it, just holds a hand out in request. smoke pls share the wealth]
Sorry. [uses request hand to gesture at the building. it's a sorry not sorry but whatever, they're detectives, they don't have to hang around and deal with the fallout they can bullshit their way out of the station whenever they want]
no subject
tiredly she shuffles a hand into the inner pocket of her blazer to fish out the goods, taking one for herself before offering the open carton to him. she doesn't need to smoke this time, it's more of a social tick. she might as well since they're out. ]
I take it things didn't go as planned. [ only because she's got nothing else nice to say and he gets a dead kid get out of jail free card on that one. ]
no subject
I'm sorry for your loss.
[ he was supposed to say that at some point earlier but things got busy last night so. have your awkward condolences now. ]
no subject
He's an asshole. [you'll get real familiar with that fact the longer you're here]
no subject
You bugging to get put on the case? [ she questions, leaving her hand in her pocket to rest. ]
no subject
[ the answer is pretty obvious so he cuts in. if his daughter was murdered he wouldn't trust it in the hands of Oliver either. ]
no subject
No. Wouldn't waste my breath trying. [there are some shots that are too long. with oliver's daddy in charge there's no budging him, he's not fighting that battle. thankfully the fucks he gives about being involved in an official capacity are next to nil and will do what he wants with or without the express permission of dictator dennington]

no subject
[ said like he was impressed or something. the rules were meant to be broken etc. ]
no subject
Thank you. [when he blinks back to the present, waves what's left of the loaner at adrian gratefully before rounding them to get back to his car]
no subject
she turns back a moment to watch adam wander off, pausing to shuffle into another pocket and stick her cigarette in between her lips.]
Hey, wait up. [ she calls after, quickly scrawling down a phone number on the pad before depositing it into his hand. ] If you need help with anything.
no subject
Yeah, you have my number.
[ vaguely remembers leaving it somewhere. maybe. he's going back inside now. the lost girl was found but things aren't looking any more simple. later sluts. ]
no subject
[lifts the paper at her in thanks after he pays ben's retreating self a glance. drops what's left of the cigarette and stubs it out with his heel, appraising her before apparently deciding whatever he had to say could wait]
.
Yeah. I'll keep in touch. [the offer isn't unappreciated, it won't go remiss to have someone with access to the ongoing case while he's in time out] You too. [belatedly adds, like he momentarily forgot how to conversate normally. he's not writing his number out though you can look it up.]
